6th Mid Year
Convention
The
Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the
Philippines, Inc. – Central Region Chapter Saudi Arabia
(IIEE-CRCSA) conducted its 6th Midyear
Convention with Product & Technical Presentation
on June 26, 2004 from 7AM to 5PM at Riyadh Marriott
Hotel, Saudi Arabia.
The
convention started with the registration of the
participants as early as 6:30 AM. Program proper
started at 8AM with the Philippine National Anthem and
Invocation by Engr. Francisco L. Licudine, Jr.,
Chapter Adviser.
The Masters of Ceremonies were Engr. Francisco
C. Sigaya, Jr. and Engr. Rommel A. Orpiada.
Engr.
Rogelio B. Matias, IIEE-CRCSA Chapter
President,
delivered his welcome address followed by the Presidents
Report. His
report focused mainly on the accomplishments and ongoing
activities of the chapter. He also invited
all registered chapter members to participate and
contribute in all of the forthcoming activities of the
local IIEE-CRCSA chapter.
Engr
Lorene S. Horvidalla, IIEE-CRCSA chapter
Treasurer,
reported about the financial status of the chapter as of
June 30, 2004.
The Treasurer welcomes everybody who wishes to
verify the chapter’s financial records. The treasurer’s
report was approved by the chapter general membership on
the motion by Engr. Jun Sigaya and seconded by Engr.
Paris Visaya.

Speakers
Sponsors
for the Convention were SETRA,
Schneider Electric KSA
and OCEETEE.
The
first technical speaker was Dr. Ismail El Hassan.
He is an Electrical engineer and holds a PhD in the
control of asynchronous motors. He had worked for four
years with Schneider electric as a research engineer in
R&D department of the variable speed drive activity
in France. Since 2000, he has been working with the
commercial division of Schneider Electric KSA as
Activity Manager for Industrial Control Products. His
responsibilities include marketing, launching and
promoting Telemecanique, Square D and Himel products in
the whole Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
